I had to share this amazing DIY with you guys. About a month ago Closet Rich, the company I intern for had a holiday Soiree(photos below). It was a fun filled night with shopping, networking, glitter tattoos, floral crowns and wine, my kind of night! This amazing event not only featured Closet Rich but Cult Gaia as well. If none of these names ring a bell to you, you must be living under a rock my friend. Just a brief FYI I work for the amazing Elizabeth Kott who is the owner and founder of the online curated fashion resale store ClosetRich.com. Elizabeth get’s to raid the closets of high profile people in fashion and entertainment and resells them online(stay tuned for more on Closet Rich). Cult Gaia is a whimsical brand bringing fantasy and rebellion into one world, creating a reminder of how beautiful nature really is. It’s only obvious that this flower crown was inspired by Cult Gaia and I had the pleasure of meeting some of the amazing girls behind the brand at our Holiday Coup!
I know you’re probably thinking where would I wear this to? ANYWHERE DUH! hahaha. I made mine for three reasons, one because Cult Gaia was having a contest, two it was for my Wildflower case shoot and three because I wanted one of my own after wearing one for our holiday party!
I not only wore mine for the photo shoot, but I wore it to the grocery store to pick up some things and ringing in the New Year. Wear it where ever you feel like wearing it! WHO CARES what everyone thinks, so what you’re gonna have people looking at you and??? Your at least looking great and don’t look like everyone else!
Now who’s ready to learn to make their own flower crown?
I got all my supplies at the Flower District in Downtown Los Angeles. If you don’t live in the LA area head to your local flower shop or your grocery store that sells flowers that already have fillers! If you decide to go the artificial route you can always find those at your local craft and home stores, as well as wire cutters and flower wire.

Supplies:
6-7 Stems( Pick the flowers of your choice, can be artificial as well )
Fillers( leafs, baby’s breath)
Scissors
Wire Cutters
Rustic & Floral Wire
Step #1: Create your base by measuring your floral wire around your head, cut it and twist the ends to create a base.
Step #2: Create your cluster. Pair one flower with a filler and cut them both leaving a 3″ stem. Create as many bunches as you like depending on how full you want your crown to look using 1 flower and 1 filler. ( I used 8)
Step#3: Create your crown! I began placing a cluster outside of my crown base and them wrapping it with my floral wire. Begin overlapping the clusters and wrap tightly around your base
Now you have your own flower crown! You look fancy and it’s a guaranteed compliment!!!
If you decide to create your own I would love to see yours!!! You can use any type of flower real or artificial! Be creative and make it your own!!! Tweet me photos on twitter @misselianaxo
